Professor Andrew Eder FCGDent

Professor Andrew Eder FCGDent is a specialist in Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics and serves as Specialist Engagement and Clinician Talent Lead at PortmanDentex, helping to build a supportive, high‑quality professional environment for clinicians and patients. He is also Emeritus Professor of Restorative Dentistry and Dental Education at the UCL Eastman Dental Institute, reflecting more than three decades of commitment to postgraduate training and clinical excellence.
Andrew graduated from King’s College London in 1986 before completing an MSc in Conservative Dentistry and the Membership in Restorative Dentistry, followed by fellowships including FDS RCS, FFGDP and FCGDent. His academic leadership includes developing Europe’s largest dental CPD centre and driving major growth in professional education at UCL.
He brings significant governance experience from his time as Chair of Trustees of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, where he led organisational reform and strengthened national‑level governance. Andrew is passionate about supporting the dental team and advancing the College’s mission for public benefit.
He was appointed a Trustee of the College in 2026.
