Clinical skills awards

CGDent and GC Award for Foundation Trainees >

The CGDent-GC Award offers 14 successful candidates a fully funded place each on a two-day, hands-on composite layering course at GC’s Education Campus in Belgium.

Eligibility: for dentists and dental therapists in their first year of qualification in the UK or Ireland, or currently undertaking DFT, DVT or JDFCT.

Entries for the 2026 award are open until Friday 20 February 2026

Tom Bereznicki Award for Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry >

Successful candidates of the Advanced Aesthetic Dentistry Award are each awarded a fully funded place on a two-day, hands-on digital dentistry course which leads participants step-by-step through the complete process of creating a digitally produced crown.

Eligibility: for dentists who have been qualified between two and five years and have been practising in the UK for the last two years.

One-day symposia

Introduction to Occlusion Symposium>

The symposium first took place in London in 2025 and then in Edinburgh later that year. We are planning to hold it again in 2026 in a new location to be announced soon.

Led by six renowned speakers, the one-day programme examines the five basic principles of occlusion and how they can support the provision of successful, long-term restorative treatments for tooth wear and other conditions.

Designed for early career practitioners and open to all dental professionals.

Perio-Occlusion Symposium for Early Careers >

The Perio-Occlusion Symposium took place in September 2025. Dr Reena Wadia MCGDent led a session on Pink Aesthetics and Dr Andy Toy FCGDent asked ‘Does Occlusion Matter before and after aligner Therapy?’.
