Fellowship by equivalence

You may apply for admittance to College Fellowship by means of equivalence if you hold:

• the Diploma of Fellowship of the former Faculty of General Dental Practice UK (FFGDP(UK))
• Certification by the American Board of General Dentistry
• a Diploma of Fellowship of any of the Royal Surgical Colleges of the UK or Ireland or their Faculties of Dental Surgery (FDS) or Dentistry (FFD)*
• the Diploma of Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS)
• the Diploma of Fellowship of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC)
• the Diploma of Fellowship of the College of Dentistry of South Africa (FCD(SA))

Other equivalent awards may be determined by the College Council over time. Please note that we require evidence of a Fellowship which has itself been achieved by assessment (rather than equivalence).

In addition, Honorary Fellows of the College (FCGDent(Hon.) or former FGDP (FFGDP(UK)(Hon.)) who meet our standard requirements for admission to membership may be admitted to Fellowship.

Please note that a Direct Debit payment may take two weeks to process; we will only process your application when payment is complete.

*This does not include Fellowship of the Faculty of Dental Trainers of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FFDT(RCS Ed)), however this is accepted towards applications for Associate Fellowship, Fellowship and College Fellowship by means of experience in the Teaching & Assessment domain
