Faculties of the College

The College has convened faculties to develop its work in support of each team role. Faculties do not have a separate membership; they provide a forum for communication and a voting constituency within the College.
The four faculties are:
- The Faculty of Dental Nursing & Orthodontic Therapy
- The Faculty of Dental Hygiene & Dental Therapy
- The Faculty of Clinical Dental Technology & Dental Technology
- The Faculty of Dentists
Faculty boards have been appointed to support the College Council in developing career pathways for individual roles and contributing to the wider work of Council in standard-setting and other areas. Faculty board members are appointed by Council, with advice from the relevant Faculty Dean, for renewable three-year terms. A role description is below.
Each faculty is chaired by a Dean, who is appointed by Council for a non-renewable three-year term. The Deans also sit on the College Council ex officio. Term-ends for each Deanship can be viewed on the College Council webpage and a role description is below.
Each faculty also elects a representative member of the College Council for a three-year term. This representative also attends meetings of the faculty board ex officio. Term-ends for each faculty’s representative, and a Council Member role description, can be viewed on the College Council webpage
