The College will soon appoint the inaugural Chair of the Board of its Faculty of Dentists, and all Full Members, Associate Fellows and Fellows of the College who are dentists are eligible to apply.

Dr Jason Wong MBE, Dip.FFGDP(UK), FCGDent, has been appointed Chief Dental Officer for England.

Voting is now open for seats on the Council of the College of General Dentistry, and all eligible members are encouraged to cast their vote(s).

The latest edition of the Primary Dental Journal, the General dentistry Part 1 issue (vol.13, no.1), is now live online.

Senior College members took part in a recent panel discussion on the question of ‘How do we support and retain our workforce and ensure that they have the right skills to meet future challenges?’.

Nominations are now open for elections to twelve regional and role-based seats on the College Council, and all eligible members are invited to put themselves forward.

This year, for the first time, four role-based seats will be elected to the College Council – one each representing dentists; dental hygienists and dental therapists; dental nurses and orthodontic therapists; and dental technicians and clinical dental technicians.

College members who are UK taxpayers can now claim income tax relief on their membership subscription fees.

The College has confirmed its programme of CPD lectures for the British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show (BDCDS24), which is taking place at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 May 2024.

John Brookman FCGDent, FFGDP(UK)(Hon.), one of the founding board members of the Faculty of General Dental Practice UK, and the founder of Vocational Training for GDPs, has died aged 92.
