The current edition of the Primary Dental Journal, the General dentistry Part 2 issue (vol.13, no.2), is now live online.

The College has announced the results of recent elections to eight regional and four new role-based seats on its Council, with nine new members elected and three re-elected.

Kushal Gadhia, Consultant and Honorary Lecturer in Restorative Dentistry at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London, will be speaking at a College symposium being held next month on tooth wear in general dental practice.

The CGDent-GC Award is being expanded to include Dental Therapists, starting with the 2024/25 competition which opens in September.

Visitors to the website can now search in order to identify Full Members, Associate Fellows and Fellows of the College who have successfully achieved recognised postgraduate awards in particular areas of practice.

The College has announced that Professor Ilser Turkyilmaz and Dr Amin Aminian FCGDent are the guest editors on two upcoming issues of the Primary Dental Journal dedicated to implant dentistry.

The College has announced the speakers for its annual study day in Glasgow, which will feature lectures on ‘Problem solving in anterior and posterior composite dentistry’, ‘The ethics of aesthetics’ and ‘Using antibiotics sustainably’.

Roshni Karia MCGDent, a general dental practitioner in London with a special interest in periodontology, has been appointed as the next President of the College.
