Thanks for this question, Thomas – others may be thinking the same. Apologies for our delayed response which has been due to staff being on annual leave.

This is not intended to be prescriptive, as each candidate’s personal development plan (PDP) will reflect where they are in their career, their individual capabilities, and what they need to do to progress to the next stage, with candidates nominating which capabilities from one of the five domains that they want to focus on for their next meeting with their Facilitator.

We would suggest it would be helpful to review the Professional Framework https://cgdent.uk/career-pathways to target which level you are working towards, identify the capabilities at that level in the Framework and pick one to focus on. Identifying your strengths and weaknesses will help inform which capabilities you want to be your focus.

Set out in words where you think you are at present and what you need to do for discussion with your Facilitator going forward.

At each meeting with your Facilitator look at the capabilities you are addressing, using the Professional Framework as a guide.

For easy reference we’re pleased to post the slide decks from the recent Induction sessions Units 1 and 2 (Candidate programme). The sessions were attended by both Candidates and Facilitators.

We will soon be announcing the next cycle of Induction sessions.

Please do share thoughts and questions on the slides in this Forum.
